Infrastructure Requirements Assessment

Does your property construction plan already include internal wiring and/or fiber specifications? Are you confident that the structured wiring specifications in your plan are correct, in order to align with the telecommunications provider technologies, as well as the services they will ultimately deliver to your residents? An important part of the proposal request process is not only to negotiate the financials, but to also work to determine the infrastructure requirements. With new technologies delivering not only Video, but managed WIFI and Internet speeds of 1Gig+ via GPON, EPON, RFoG, DOCSIS 3.1, DOCSIS 4.0 and G.fast, evaluating and selecting the right converged services technology and service provider becomes increasingly important. Which telecom materials and labor will be supplied by the service provider and which will be supplied by the property owner. We'll work with our client owner, their development planner and the service provider(s) to facilitate an alignment between what the service provider is willing to include under their negotiated agreement and what the property owner will need to provide. This will determine what the property owner client will ultimately need to specify and build into the property during the construction process and will better align the owner’s construction plan and costs. As such, we'll also provide your company with the high level wiring, media panel and pathway guidelines and requirements, in order for you to provide class-leading telecommunications services for your future residents. Simply put, our goal is to align the needs of our client with the delivery by the selected provider(s) and work to get the selected provider(s) to pay for and compensate our client property owner to the greatest extent possible.

Proposal Request Process

Upon owner approval, Multifamily Broadband will commence with the proposal request process for your new construction property. This will begin with our company obtaining a site survey and construction plans for the property, and thereafter sending them to the selected RFP service providers. We will then work with the service provider to maximize their infrastructure contributions, in addition to including owner compensations. We will also confirm which service providers have declined or cannot offer a proposal.
Business Case Analysis

As part of the business case review process, with non-bulk marketing agreements, we will provide a financial model analysis of the deal points, using the estimated revenue-per-subscriber and projected subscriber penetration over the term of the agreement. Added to this will be any negotiated up-front “Door Fees”, minus our contingency fees. As a result, our client owner will be able to more closely determine the Gross and Net projected value of each proposal arrangement negotiated for a given property. In addition to the financials, we will provide a proposal review narrative, that not only provides the details taking our client through the proposed arrangements, but also a “Bottom Line” summary. In the case of Bulk agreements, we will provide the calculations for any upfront Door Fees, as well as the calculated Bulk service costs. With this information our client owners are able to make informed decisions with regard to their property agreement arrangements.
Agreement Process

Multifamily Broadband facilitates the agreement negotiation process in conjunction with the client’s legal counsel. We will work to ensure that the proposal deal points and financials are included in the agreement draft. Once an agreement has been approved by the owner’s legal counsel and executed by a property owner at their sole discretion in conjunction with a given service provider, that agreement can generally be used as a terms and conditions “template” for future agreements for the property owner.
Agreement Implementation and Compensation Payment to Property Owners

Once an agreement is signed with a service provider, it needs to then be implemented. This includes obtaining a countersigned agreement copy for the property owner, and compensation commencement. Since MultifamilyBroadband fees are generally contingency based, we don’t get paid until our clients get paid. As such, our clients are confident that we will successfully work through the process of the initial upfront Door Fee payment, as well as the commencement of on-going Revenue-Sharing commissions, once the new construction property is constructed and the telecom services activated. Service Provider compensation is paid directly to the property owner. After the property owner is paid by the service provider, we will then invoice our client accordingly.
Telecom Construction Coordination

In conjunction with the new service agreement agreements, there needs to be coordination between the service provider, and the owner’s development team. MultifamilyBroadband will work as a liaison between the various groups, and will work to ensure that the service provider contributes the materials and labor included under the negotiated service agreement.
On-Going Client Support

Our support doesn’t end just because our client has signed a new agreement for a given property community. We also assist our clients over the life of their services agreements, helping them work through issues with their service providers which they have been unsuccessful in resolving, such as billing and service issues. Common service issue examples are unburied orange cable wires, open lock boxes or broken green pedestals. Moreover, for clients which we manage their on-going revenue-sharing payments, we will work to ensure accurate and timely payments.
